Job Title: 2nd Line Support Technician
Location: Fareham/Gosport, Hampshire.
Due to the nature of our support requirements this is an office based role.
Are you looking for a career in IT that will provide customer support in a 2nd line Support role? We are looking for suitable candidates with an understanding of IT services that is interested in building upon current knowledge to progress a career in IT. This role will enhance skills of a talented technician in service support and provision of equipment to the military in support of training personnel. You will be providing second line support to our customers and partners operating as a 2nd Line technician and assisting the Service Desk to resolve issues and solutions to enable fast responses to issues raised within the IT environment. Candidates with some knowledge of IT Support and experience with Desktop support, keen and willing to lead and impart knowledge to the rest of the team.
Your role
The role is customer facing so the most important attributes are for you to be able to work within a team and able to converse well with our customers (Military) and corporate partners. This position is primarily located at Gosport, Hampshire and will involve support at additional sites within a 10-mile radius. Operating on a rota Monday to Friday.
The successful applicant may also engage in projects further afield from time to time and take lead in current and future technologies that will be used within the team, the type of technologies that the team will support such as SPLUNK, Sharepoint & VEAM. Some training will be provided but experience of these technologies will be advantageous.
You will need to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by clarifying the customers’ needs and ensure they are met whilst working within your agreed support role as defined by your Team Lead. Some of the key tasks and core skills are outlined below but you will also be involved with other work as directed and be expected play your part in contributing to the team’s ability to meet target SLA’s and KPI’s.
If not already held, candidates will be expected to apply and achieve initially an SC Clearance to fulfil this position, Due to the nature of our support requirements higher level clearance may be necessary, this is an office-based role.

Our Hours of support are 0730 – 1800 per week on a split shift, rotated weekly as directed by team lead to cover 37 hours.
Example shift patterns will be 0730-1500 & 0930-1800.
