Job Title: Accessibility Project Manager

Salary: £28,800 - £37,425 per annum

Location: Cambridge/hybrid (minimum 40% in Cambridge)

Contract: Fixed term (12 months), full time (35 hours per week)

We are seeking an Accessibility Project Manager for our Academic division. This brand-new role will oversee projects to ensure our digital products comply with the European Accessibility Act. It's a chance to manage a cross-functional project, enhancing our accessibility and inclusivity.

About The Role

This role involves project managing the work of the cross-functional Academic Content Accessibility Group. Responsibilities include planning, organising, and scheduling tasks to comply with the European Accessibility Act, managing budgets, and reporting on progress and risks. You will also create a five-year remediation plan for backfile content and oversee the first tranche of titles, working with third-party suppliers and stakeholders. This will involve:

  • Organising project meetings, chasing actions, managing stakeholders, providing project updates and creating and maintaining project documentation.
  • Managing budgets for accessibility work and liaising with third-party suppliers to outsource work where appropriate.
  • Managing remediation of titles, troubleshooting and making recommendations for improvement.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience and knowledge of ebook production processes, which is essential for this role. Ideally, you will also have knowledge of digital accessibility requirements. While project management skills are an advantage, we will provide training for this role. A high standard of computer literacy is required. You should also possess strong administrative, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver to strict deadlines. Effective time management is crucial, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. We are seeking someone with a flexible, positive, and proactive approach.
