Position Overview
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a critical team within the International Finance Function. The International Accounting Advisory Team (“IAAT”) is the International Divisions first point of contact for IFRS and US GAAP technical accounting.
The team provides financial oversight, guidance and support, partnering with local operating company finance to provide practical solutions to operational accounting complexities while maintaining the integrity of the Group’s internal and external reporting. In addition, we are a valuable business partner to the Strategy and Development and Tax teams to determine the optimal structure for acquisition and divestments and supporting finance teams with the preparation of the opening and closing balance sheets and finance related integration activities. The team also has responsibility for the oversight of the local group reporting and statutory audit processes; monitoring and ensuring compliance with deadlines and providing technical support where required.
The role will provide opportunities to build a wide network of relationships across CRH functions and locations, both day to day and through finance related projects. A significant project which is ongoing is the full implementation of US GAAP reporting at business unit level. This includes the drafting of US GAAP accounting policies, delivering training to operating companies, developing a dual GAAP lease model and determining an approach to migrate our ERP systems to US GAAP reporting.
