The Vacancy

Brown & May Marine Limited part of RSK Group has over 35 years' experience in the provision of fisheries and marine environmental consultancy services to the offshore industry across Europe.

We are currently looking for an Accounts Support and Administration Officer to meet our increasing workload from existing and new clients in the offshore wind, subsea cables and oil and gas sector in the UK and Europe. The successful candidate will work as part of a team, supporting our, and RSK’s, Management Accountants ensure effective credit control and financial data production. In addition, a successful candidate will support the Principal and Senior consultants with a range of administration tasks.

This role will be based from our Brown & May Marine office in Eye, Suffolk and can consider hybrid options.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Managing Director, Principal Consultants and Management Accountants within both Brown & May Marine Limited and the Parent company RSK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using Online management system (Focal Point) to set up new suppliers
  • Processing zero hours staff / contractors timesheets & expenses
  • Processing credit card expenses
  • Sending client statements
  • Credit control – posting receipts to accounts system and chasing overdue debt
  • Client account payments
  • Sending out payment requests for client account funds
  • Bank receipt postings
  • Supporting senior consultants with evidence review, cooperation payment calculation and general administration;
  • Review of WIP figures at month end
  • Raising POs for purchase invoices
  • General office management – ordering stationary/equipment, assisting staff with use of Focal Point, advising on general matters
  • Arranging Team events (summer and Christmas)
  • Preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes of meetings
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with all information


Person Specification:

  • Experience in Accountancy and Administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with fellow employees, clients and stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Good organisational and data management skills
  • Strong IT skills and Proficient in the use of Microsoft office, in particular excel
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt to a changing workload
  • Knowledge and / or experience of FocalPoint Software - Desirable
