Description
Ashurst ward is located in Littlemore Hospital, Sandford Lane, Oxford, OX4 4TN. It is primarily a male, single-sex psychiatric intensive care unit for adults of working age (AWA) population of Oxfordshire.

Inpatients are treated by a multidisciplinary team led by a consultant and the expectation is that there is shared responsibility for clinical management at an appropriate level. All inpatients have a care coordinator (either existing or allocated) and it is expected that the CCO is actively involved in inpatient care, thereby forming a link to AMHTs.

The post-holder will provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team on the ward along with the ward manager and modern matron and will assume consultant responsibility for patients admitted to the ward.

Wintle ward, based at the Warneford Hospital, Headington, Oxford, has 16 beds. It is a female, single-sex ward for the working age population of Oxfordshire.

Medical staff provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team on the ward along with the ward manager and modern matron.

The specialty doctor post was created to support the development of the inpatient psychiatric service to adults of working age in Oxfordshire. The post is currently vacant following the existing post holder moving to take up a training post.

The specialty doctor posts were created to support the development of the inpatient psychiatric service to adults of working age in Oxfordshire. The post is being offered on a fixed term contract for a year from February 2025 as the current SAS doctor will be on maternity leave.
