Your mission
Key Tasks
- Managing overall responsibility for delivery of sections of work safely, to time and on budget.
- Setting a personal example in health safety and environmental matters through strong, visible leadership (including safety tours).
- Acting as a champion for all Alliance and supply chain employees. Actively supporting HSQE initiatives, both on the project and across business.
- Driving quality delivery through effective planning.
- Maintaining a good working relationship within the Alliance Project Team and promoting the values and behaviours with Stakeholders and the supply chain.
- Maintaining a close working relationship with the Alliance procurement team to ensure compliant and advantageous procurement arrangements for the project.
- Establishing close working relationships with works supervisory staff (work managers and general foremen) to ensure the cost-effective management of labour and plants.
- Undertake 1-1 meetings, perform performance development reviews, and support the development and training needs of junior staff.
Who are we looking for?
Your Qualifications, Skills, And Experience Should Include
- Successful management of a number of contracts or large packages of work on major infrastructure projects.
- Working knowledge of various construction techniques and a knowledge of the UK rail industry (although this is not essential for the right candidates)
- Should possess effective verbal and writing communication skills at all levels.
- Contributed to the successful management of health and safety on site by being able to identify and mitigate risks.
- It is preferable to have either significant earthwork or heavy structure experience.
- Experience working on projects based on collaborative forms of contracts is desirable.
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects is desirable.
- Qualified or working towards Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
