The Team

Our Infrastructure & Capital Projects (A&M INFRA) team is focused on improving return on investment capital and mitigating risks specific to capital projects. Built on deep industry sector expertise and a differentiated ability to address complex business challenges, we support owner, operator, and contractor clients by reducing uncertainty associated with the development and operational costs of projects. Our ultimate goal is to enhance shareholder value throughout the project lifecycle, from procurement and execution to asset management. Infrastructure and Capital Projects focuses on the interface between the technical (engineering), commercial and financial aspects of global infrastructure (energy, transport, social, digital, communications and waste) to provide informed advice to our clients.

We provide integrated, end-to-end advisory services covering technical, economic, regulatory, environmental, social and governance (“ESG”), and commercial expertise. Collaborating with Alvarez & Marsal’s broader resources, we also offer tax, finance, and operational solutions to deliver a comprehensive service to clients. Whether supporting projects pre- or post-deal, we bring insights and resources that navigate challenges and contribute to the successful delivery of impactful projects.

The Role

A&M is expanding in EMEA and seeks to recruit an Analyst in our London office. In this role, you will work alongside some of the industry’s most experienced professionals, supporting the delivery of complex infrastructure and capital projects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include collecting and analysing data, conducting research, and providing essential support to senior team members. You will contribute to initiatives focused on performance improvement, digital transformation, delivery optimisation, and operational turnaround. Key activities include conducting detailed analyses, managing data entry, preparing high-quality reports and presentations and communicating findings effectively to senior managers and directors.

Activities and Responsibilities:

Data Management and Analysis: Collect, clean, and analyse data from various sources to support project objectives. Ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the analysis process.

Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Effectively communicate findings and recommendations.

Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings and presentations. Assist in understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions.

Project Execution: Support the execution of projects by adhering to established methodologies and timelines. Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various teams within A&M, including tax, finance, and operational units, to provide integrated solutions to clients.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices. Apply new knowledge to enhance project outcomes.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Master’s degree (Merit or above) in engineering, management, or finance-related fields.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience in teamwork and collaboration.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel for project needs.
• Business professional fluency in English, with the ability to articulate technical and business concepts clearly to a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of project management methodologies.
• Experience or knowledge of the construction, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
• Multilingual

Competencies:

Technical Proficiency: Experience in MS Office, particularly Excel (for data analysis), PowerPoint (for presentations and reports), and Word (for documentation). Familiarity with project management tools or software is an advantage.

Attention to Detail: Ability to produce high-quality, accurate work under pressure and within deadlines.

Collaboration Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders across various levels.

Critical Thinking: Capable of analysing data, recognising patterns, and providing evidence-based recommendations. Demonstrates an ability to connect insights to actionable client opportunities.

Learning Mindset: Proactive approach to acquiring new skills, industry knowledge, and staying updated on emerging trends.
