Your Role
The mission of the Symrise team at the Colworth Science Park is to deliver a step change in innovation capability. Initially, the focus is to support Global Key Accounts onsite and integrate in the local ecosystem. Beyond that we want to build an innovation hub that is open to all our UK customers and puts Symrise on the map as the place to go for “Good Food – Great Experience”.
The goals are to protect and sustain our positions in dairy, ice-cream and tea with Key Customers and to build significant business with new customers through the creation of a cross-category innovation hub.
The application technologist dairy will provide Symrise technical development support to teams on site at Colworth Park and support the local UK dairy business.
Responsibilities/accountabilities: (Key Results to be achieved, key performance indicators)
- Support local customer development in the area of Dairy, Ice-cream and plant based applications.
- Preparation of high quality ready-to-eat/drink samples according to Global Key Accounts and UK customer requirements and ensure on time delivery.
- Development of new and innovative product concepts in close cooperation with, Sales, Portfolio Management and Marketing and all BU and other regional Symrise stakeholders.
- Development of market relevant product recipes.
- Manage customer workshops and product development within the respective application labs.
- Manage the existing key customers portfolio.
- Build strong technical relationship to customers to understand the relevant technical challenges and provide technical support regarding flavour application.
- Develop and maintain the technical equipment and guarantee the highest relevant safety and hygienic standard.
About You
Education/experience requirement
- 5 years related work experience
Technical Competencies
- Advanced product know how in dairy and sweets.
- Strong skills in planning, coordinating and organising, especially project management.
- Excellent networking skills for cross regional and crossfunctional activity coordination.
- Confident presentation skills
- Help to build prestige and reputation with our key customers as well as new customers.
- Can work both, in teams and independently
- Understanding of the Symrise strategic focus
- Develops recipes with profitable return and into industrial applications
- Packaging knowledge for products and requirements
- Excellent IT skills – knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Experience of using of SAP, PACE, Symcom and other Symrise systems advantageous
- Sound knowledge of EU Food and Flavour Legislation.
This role is based at Colworth Park - onsite 5 days a week.
