About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an
Approved Electrician to join our
Rail team to work in
London across various site locations. The works are for the delivery of Power supply upgrades to run the new generation of trains on the
Piccadilly Line as part of our multi year framework with London Underground.
What you'll be doing
- Carry out electrical installation work efficiently and independently.
- Interpret jobs from drawings and specifications, and requisition necessary installation materials.
- Responsible for the proper completion of jobs and, when required, supervise other team members.
- Carry out electrical activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with business and technical requirements.
- Address all technical queries and requests for information promptly to ensure timely issue and response.
- Maintain robust document control for all technical documentation and information.
- Anticipate, manage, and resolve technical issues related to cable route design, identifying risks and facilitating resolutions for any issues raised.
- Monitor progress to ensure critical events occur as scheduled.
- Stay updated on specification and technical legislative changes.
- Record all non-conformances and support the Quality Team in investigating any reported issues.
- Deliver toolbox talks and communicate updates on company policies and procedures to the installation team.
Who we're looking for
- Fully meets the requirements for the grade of Approved Electrician.
- Proven experience working as an Approved Electrician following the successful completion of training and immediately prior to this application.
- Demonstrates competence in Inspection and Testing.
- Possesses a strong working knowledge of the National Working Rules for the Electrical Contracting Industry, current IET Wiring Regulations for Electrical Installations, the Electricity Safety, Quality & Continuity Regulations, the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and all relevant statutory and British standards, Codes of Practice, and Construction Industry Safety Regulations governing consumer installations.
