This is an
Area Business / Sales Manager role where you will be responsible for delivering total area management – through people leadership and customer management (Key Accounts, Key Account Wholesale, and Independent Retail).
Key objectives -
- Drive Distribution, Availability, Merchandising, Pricing and Advocacy through the sales team on a set geographical territory.
- Create great teams whose mission is to drive excellent performance in outlets – including Key Accounts, Independents, independent cash and Carry – and any other calls.
- Developing self and others – creating an environment of strong commercial capability which will drive growth within the Field Sales arena.
- Deliver strong team engagement with company strategy and objectives
Please note: This is a field-based role, and you will need to be able to travel to your customers sites in the following postal code area: BN, CT, GU, DA, ME, RH, RM AND TN. All candidates must have a valid Full UK driving licence, we do provide you with a car.
Principle Accountabilities
- Drive, motivate and develop the team to deliver high performance & achieve individual and team KPIs.
- Ensure each team member can deliver engaging sales presentations, using various VAK techniques and commercial information to produce a compelling reason for our products to be stocked and sold out.
- Support the team to develop their depth of commercial understanding of all channel retailer’s operating model, including pricing and profitability dynamics
- Develop a strong working knowledge of our retailers, market and products.
- Organise and execute inspirational events with our retailers to maximize team effectiveness in achievement of business objectives
- Be part of induction training and developing team members
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous or current FMCG Sales experience
- Experience of managing a team (ideally a field sales team)
- Excellent coaching and leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and coach the performance of others
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Independent self-starter who can maintain high level of personal motivation
- Experience of working to and meeting targets for yourself and your team members
