AWS BAU Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. AWS Cloud Environment Linux Patch Management , Upgrades , Installation and Trouble shooting , Responsible to BAU Support. Manage Incident/Change/Problem/Asset Management using ITSM tool Service Now.
2. Perform RHEL System Administration on RHEL7/8 and Amazon Linux 2. Support development teams with their AWS (Amazon Web Services) deployments and troubleshoot issues. Assist in configuration through amendment of Chef Cookbooks
3. Troubleshoot and fix any issues with Jenkins pipelines used for CI/CD. Implement/Deploy AWS in large, regulated enterprise environment
4. Monitor the IT estate using tools such as Datadog/CloudWatch and proactively react to alerts, Perform patch management of the estate using tools including RedHat Satellite and Ansible
5. Remediate any security vulnerabilities within a timely manner. Participate in an out-of-hours on call rota
6. Support COTS software such as Cloudera, Tableau, Informatica, IBM i2 etc.
7. Assist with the SDLC of hardware and AWS services.
8. Create and maintain documentation and knowledge-based articles
9. Manage SSL certificates and their renewals. Oversee user and permission management

Required Skills

• Experience with ITIL and Agile working environments
• Strong Linux System Administration experience
• Strong Knowledge in AWS services EC2, ELB, RDS, ECS, EMR, S3, Config, CloudTrail, EFS, Lambda, VPC and IAM
• DevOps Experience using Jenkins, Gitlab or GitHub and Jira
• Having used enterprise identity management software such as RedHat Identity Manager for server and application authentication
• To be able to communicate and articulate technical issues across all levels (i.e., technical team members as well as less-technical management)
• Partake in an out-of-hours on call rota (comes once 6-7 weeks)
• Must have (or be eligible for) SC Clearance
• Shift working Monday-Friday as per project requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with DevOps methodology, continuous integration, and delivery (CI/CD) and related tools
• Knowledge of Docker or container-based systems
• Knowledge of AWS Services, such as EMR, Connect, CloudFormation, Lambda, SNS and SQS Knowledge of Chef and/or Ruby
• AWS or RHEL certification
