Miller Insurance has a new vacancy as a Binding Authority Technician. The purpose of this role is to provide prompt, accurate and effective technical administration (and processing) support directly to clients and business unit.
The Role
- Keep track of impending renewals and provide renewal information to Account Executives in good time to enable terms to be obtained and firm orders placed
- Liaise with Account Executives to ensure all relevant information is gathered in the preparation of market documentation and that it matches the client/market requirements
- Liaise with Account Executives to achieve agreement from markets where required and maintaining diary/pending system to monitor progress
- Accurate and timely production of client documentation
- Maintain accurate and concise placing files, using the corporate document management system
- Liaise with compliance and credit control to ensure all procedures are followed
- Ensure aggregate and GPI limits are correctly maintained within Binder management systems
- Be responsible for maintaining accurate data and records within Binder management system
- Produce exception and trend analysis reporting, profit commission calculation and key performance indicator reports
- Prepare and submit London Market Insurance documentation including submission of LPANs and supporting documents to Xchanging
- Review, monitor and provide resolution to technical questions from clients, markets, credit control, claims and the business unit, to ensure that the client’s best interests are maintained
- Provide updates and progress reports to management as required
- Maintain diary system to ensure that files are appropriately progressed
- Monitor signings received from Xchanging and ensure timely resolution of queries and settlement of premiums and advising the business as required
- Perform quality control checks on all documentation
- Ensure Binding Authority contracts are set up within internal Binder management systems in a timely fashion
- Adhere to and meet fully the expectations of Miller, as set out in its policies and procedures, training material, and embedded in its systems and controls. Our policies and
- procedures are written to encapsulate the compliance, legal and financial crime related legislation and regulations which apply to Miller.
- Comply with any external rules and requirements imposed on individuals performing their role at Miller, such as Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules.
- Promote Miller brand and values to enhance Miller’s reputation in the market
Qualifications
- CII qualifications, or ongoing progress towards these, is desirable
- GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths
- Minimum of 3 A level passes (or equivalent)
Knowledge
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of binders process
Experience
- Experience working in a technical binder processing role essential
- Experience with the use of Lloyd’s market tools including Atlas, DCOM and Crystal
