The opportunity - Commercial Data Analyst


What you'll be doing

As Commercial Data Analyst, you will collaborate with a team of industry-leading experts to shape key aspects of the credit lifecycle for our unsecured consumer lending portfolios. You will analyse data, create insightful reports and contribute to customer acquisition and management strategies across both cards and loans products.

An integral Commercial team member, you will support in driving insight and change across the function. You will be a key member of a small but growing team that drive the business to meet its growth objectives and improve customer outcomes. You will need to be able to build reports, pull out important information and use that to inform strategy.


Key responsibilities and objectives:

  • Build reports that provide actionable insight regarding commercials and credit risk
  • Analyse data to identify trends and patterns that can be used to inform strategy
  • Collaborate with our Marketing team to develop customer engagement strategies
  • Develop and implement data-driven solutions to improve business performance
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to commercial data analysis
  • Work closely with our IT team to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Improve processes and execute some strategies
  • Identify opportunities to introduce innovative data analysis techniques or tools to enhance team performance.


What we are looking for

  • 1-2 years of experience working in an analytics function. Within financial service is a positive (but not mandatory).
  • An experienced user of SQL, ideally MS SQL Server, but other similar RDBMS are desirable.
  • Excel proficiency.
  • An aptitude for getting to the bottom of a particular problem, breaking it apart and understanding it, before designing and implementing a solution.
  • A proactive and collaborative analyst, with the ability to operate independently while being flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Someone with the desire to learn how to manage a consumer lending portfolio.
