As the Business Development Lead specialising in Water, Environment and Science / Engineering, you will play a critical role in driving sales and business development initiatives within the
Water, Environment and Scientific Services Directorate at
WRc.
This is a full-time role, hybrid with a requirement to attend one of our offices and meet clients as required.
Our focus in the
Water, Environment and Scientific Services Directorate is on enhancing the protection of Environmental and Public Health through natural and built solutions of the water system and the wider environment.
Your expertise in business development will be instrumental in marketing our capability, understanding client needs, coordinating sales efforts, and establishing long-term client relationships. This position requires a blend of technical proficiency or willingness to learn our value propositions and service offerings, sales acumen, and strong communication skills to effectively promote and sell the directorates products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client engagement and relationship management
- Market research and competitive analysis
- Value proposition and sales
- Technical consultation and solution development
- Opportunity development
- Monthly reporting to Director and mid to long-term strategic planning
- Champion of opportunity and sales business systems
Person Specification:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science /Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in technical sales, business development, or account management within the technical sector.
- Strong understanding of water / wastewater science, engineering principles, and water treatment processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, and deliver effective solutions.
