What you'll be doing
As a Buyer you will be responsible for:
- Fulfilling requisitions on behalf of the business
- Projects POC for the North East Delivery Unit, to provide support, resolve queries and offer advice
- Ensuring internal spend compliance
- Sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations
- Conducting tender processes
- Supplier meetings and engagement
- Creation of Supply Chain Strategies
- Management of Procurement Schedules
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders
- Identifying key trends or opportunities for cost reduction
- Negotiating discounts and savings & ensuring accurate reporting of such along with value add activities
- Supplier performance management
- Ensuring adherence to procurement processes and procedures
Who we're looking for
The following experience and skills are essential:
- Highly results orientated (proven ability to complete tasks efficiently and promptly, consistently delivering high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines
- Highly organised
- Demonstrates negotiation skills
- Strong team player
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Flexible and driven
- Customer focussed
- Problem solving skills, ability to use own initiative to identify areas of improvement & propose solutions.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal skills
- Knowledge of Subcontract Procurement Process (desired)
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
