Job Description
- The role encapsulates the end-to-end design of the integration of electrical systems with regards to all Mechanical packaging
- Enclosures, brackets, housings, trucking
- Thermal mechanical - Cooling calcs, sizing of ducts heatsinks etc
- Batteries, cold plates, busbars, PCB mounting, Composite HV pack enclosures
- AV Mounting - Calculate and size bushings, define and manage testing and validation, development of tools and process
- Systems Engineering - Capturing and understanding the requirements, blue sky thinking, problem solving, electrical architecture, componentry selection, layout, and feasibility.
- Detail design - 3D CAD - Concept schemes, packaging
- 2D manufacturing - Drawings, build lists, BOM, supplier selection, costings, planning capture.
- Support - Physically validate the system, parts they have designed, support build, snag correction, fault investigation, easements, cost-downs, reworks instructions, reporting.
- CAD, 2D & 3D drawing data and design (UG NX)
Qualifications / Skills required
- To have a clear understanding of CAD and UG NX systems at customer site.
- 1-3 yrs min experience in Mechanical design relating to Electrical systems, mounting and bracketry
- Break Out Box "BOB" design experience
- Folded Metalwork & Bracketry
- Composite manufacturing drawing experience
- Motorsport industry design experience
- Electrical/Electronic packaging experience
- Rapid prototyping design experience
