Category & Sourcing Specialist
Location: Hybrid working in Falmer or Durrington 2-3 days
Perm/FTC: Permanent
Hours: 37 hrs
Salary: Up to £35,000 based on experience
Southern Water are currently looking for an addition to our expanding Procurement team.
As the Category and Sourcing specialist you will gather and analyse appropriate internal and external data and conduct in depth analysis to support the delivery of category/sub-category strategies as well as seeking cost reductions through driving aggregation and standardisation and identifying opportunities to
reduce spot buys/tail spend.
You will engage with the business to the support procurement processes, including running sourcing events within the business, including early involvement of procurement in third party spend, and providing guidance, advice, and troubleshooting on procurement processes, delivering against financial target and KPIs, and ensuring compliance with Procurement governance processes.
To be considered for this role you will be confident in your written and verbal communication and presenting to a group, maintaining relationships both internally and externally and have excellent analytical, planning and negotiation skills and have good knowledge of leading-practice tools, techniques and processes covering category strategy development.
You will have in depth category experience in either engineering and construction or Asset Purchase and hire. As well as knowledge of UCR and ABC legislation. A CIPS level 4 or a willingness to work towards this are highly desirable.
