Internal Communications and Engagement is a key function of the Corporate Affairs team. We support M&G in achieving its goals by translating our business strategy into meaningful and compelling employee communications, delivering them through multiple, increasingly interactive, and digital channels. We ensure that all employees are informed, engaged and inspired, giving them the tools to contribute to M&G’s success, and to be compelling external advocates for the business.
This role will support the optimisation of our existing communication channels to establish new, more effective channels and communication tools. It will also help co-ordinate internal communications content across channels, ensuring consistency and alignment to the overall strategic narrative and priorities.
This is a hands-on craft role requiring a mix of creative skills to create and curate brilliant content, finding internal stories that bring our purpose and strategy to life, and telling them in an engaging way.
Key accountabilities for this role:
- Working with Content and Channels Lead to support the development and implementation of a content and channels strategy that underpins the delivery of our internal communications to bring the right digital capability together so we can deliver on what our business and colleagues need from us
- Support the optimisation of our existing digital communication channels to measure and drive improvement, and establish new, more effective channels and communication tools where appropriate.
- Lead the day-to-day management of digital communication channels, and the activation of news and stories across them
- Support internal comms delivery planning, working with the Content and Channels Lead to create a clear roadmap of activities and opportunities; and establishing and maintaining the processes and tools required to effectively air traffic control our messaging and manage content creation and delivery.
- Content – produce relevant content for colleagues through our communication channels as and when needed
- Measurement - help establish the tools and metrics to regularly evaluate the effectiveness of our internal communications strategy and activity, using data and insight to inform decision-making, measure success and enhance the effectiveness of channels.
- Management of internal communication shared mailboxes
- Any other duties as directed by the Content and Channels Lead
Some of the skills and experience you’ll need:
- Experience in managing digital Internal Communication channels and providing guidance around effective use
- The ability to work well with a range of stakeholders and offer advice on best use of channels
- Ability to coach and support colleagues inside and outside of our team, in order to improve the collective quality of our content and ensure our channels are used as effectively as possible
- An interest in developing a broad network, both internally and externally, to make sure our channels are fit for purpose , with an eye on industry trends and capabilities
- Experience in working as part of an Internal Communications team, or in a role where you’ve worked as part of a team developing and implementing communications activity
- A solid copywriter and editor, with an eye for detail and the ability to communicate with absolute clarity A reputation for getting stuff done – sometimes on your own, sometimes with your team, sometimes with people from across the business… but always to a high standard and on time
- The ability to make good use of data and analytics so that we can improve our approach and create proof points that demonstrate our impact and insight that helps us evolve our approach and manage expectations effectively
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
