Skanska is on the lookout for an experienced and passionate
Civil Integration Lead to join our
expanding infrastructure water team. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in the flagship
Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plant Relocation Project. This major development is a unique chance to contribute to the design and construction of a
state-of-the-art waste water treatment facility, setting a new standard in the industry.
About the Project:
This project will involve the
design and construction of a new greenfield Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW), including a
Waste Recycling Centre (WRC),
Sewage Treatment Centre (STC),
tunnels,
shafts,
landscaping,
highways realignment,
major earthworks, and
decommissioning of the existing facility. As the
Civil Integration Lead, you will be at the heart of this ambitious development, guiding the project through its final stages with expertise and innovation.
What you'll do:
Provide
engineering technical direction to civil discipline engineers, ensuring all civil design and structural elements are seamlessly integrated across the project’s multiple phases and zones.
- Take ownership of design deliverables, reviewing and checking civil and structural designs from both internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring compliance with procedures and current standards.
- Lead the team through the final optioneering stage, preparing for contract award, and overseeing detailed design for construction.
- Act as a mentor and coach, guiding junior engineers and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions that are on-time, on-budget, and of the highest quality.
- Lead efforts to reduce carbon footprints, promote biodiversity, tackle climate change, and drive forward digital innovation in design and construction.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent knowledge through work).
- Preferably Chartered (or working towards it).
- Proven leadership in civil and structural design in the water/wastewater industry.
- Proven ability in leading and managing teams, delivering projects to budget, program, and quality requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of Wastewater and Sludge Treatment Centres and managing CDM responsibilities.
- Leadership skills focused on coaching, mentoring, and supporting staff welfare.
