Are you an experienced Client Development Manager with a proven track record in building relationships and managing large, key client accounts?
We have recently secured a significant new client, aligning perfectly with our strategic goals of acquiring large-scale and FTSE 350 clients, and establishing ourselves as leading advisors in the Infrastructure & Energy sector. This newly established role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with senior stakeholders, influence the strategic development of this key relationship, and define our approach for managing similar major accounts.
As The Client Development Manager You Will
- Collaborate with the Client Relationship Partner and two Deputy Client Relationship Partners to devise and implement a strategic plan for strengthening and expanding our relationship with our key client, ensuring alignment with the firm's broader objectives.
- Lead and facilitate internal client team meetings, fostering an inclusive team environment, and ensuring effective communication and completion of action items.
- Be visible across the business, acting as a central point of contact for anyone working with our key client, and ensuring central co-ordination of activities.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements such as SLAs, reporting and adherence to engagement terms
- With the support of the Commercial Finance team, report to the Client Relationship Partner (and Deputies) on financial performance.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities by monitoring the key client's needs and using CRM and financial data, sharing insights with the client team and making recommendations to grow and enhance the relationship.
- Ensure regular and meaningful contact with key contacts across the key client's business and legal teams, planning and preparing for meetings and actively participating where needed.
- Working closely with the Bids & Proposals team to provide strategic input to proposals, ensuring submissions reflect key relationship messages.
- Work with internal Steering Groups such as Innovation and ESG to develop and implement innovative ideas to engage with our key client, including value added services, client tools, secondments, training and ESG-related initiatives.
- With the support of the CRM & Insights Manager, drive the collection and analysis of client feedback through service review, post-matter reviews and debrief interviews, ensuring insights are actioned.
We are looking for:
- Previous experience of working in a client development role, preferably in a professional services firm.
- Excellent understanding of client development and business development processes and experience of using CRM data to spot relationship opportunities and risks.
- Good knowledge of Management Information reporting, confident dealing with issues relating to billing and financials and an understanding of law firm management metrics.
- Knowledge of large, regulated businesses would be an advantage, as would knowledge of the energy sector.
- Be able to manage all stakeholders in the business to get the right people involved, engaged and working towards the delivery of a successful partnership with the key client and other large clients.
- Strong organisational skills, able to create plans and objectives and drive activity to achieve timelines and outcomes.
- Ability to build relationships and networks internally and externally.
- Strong diplomacy, listening and influencing skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
