Climate Economist and Business Case professional?

As a Climate Economist you will help shape and grow our climate, resilience and decarbonisation capabilities within our Business Case Centre of Excellence as well as contribute to focused market-led growth. Although a climate specialist, you will be adaptable, and comfortable leading the delivery of business case projects across multiple sectors, helping grow the pipeline of work in priority sectors, delivering on excellent Account Leadership.
You will manage concurrent priorities across the team, helping to support, manage, and direct more junior staff, whilst providing day-to-day leadership and technical guidance. Providing end-to-end trusted advice to support to our clients, you will play a vital role in growing the business, connecting with clients and colleagues alike to create opportunities.

Your Contribution
We are looking for an experienced Climate Economist to help shape and define an ambitious and growing team, who is passionate about delivering great outcomes for our people and our clients.
You will be part of our entrepreneurial and growing Strategic Advisory team, providing industry-leading, award-winning consulting services.
Delivering great work
Day to day you will commit to delivery of advisory projects, helping to manage concurrent priorities across the team, helping to support, manage, and direct more junior staff, whilst providing both leadership and technical guidance. Providing end-to-end trusted advice to support to our clients. You will play a vital role in growing the business, connecting with clients and colleagues alike to create opportunities.
As well as bringing an established network of contacts to the role that will help foster growth of the business, whilst also keeping aligned with industry best practice, we want you to be a proactive participant in the Strategic Advisory market. It's important that you take every opportunity to enhance the Mott MacDonald brand and highlight our capabilities.
Candidate Specification
We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of climate economics, business case technical capabilities and delivery, as well as playing a proactive role in the growth of the business in these areas.
Ideally candidates will have a proven track record of delivery and work winning in a consultancy environment.
It's important that we find people who have a demonstrable passion for delivering economics and business case excellence.
A track record in successful project delivery, or significant elements of major project delivery and familiarity with the principles of HMT Green Book, are also important.
We are a dynamic and growing team and are encouraged to think big and scale up fast, which will require a high degree of agility and co-operation across the whole team. To thrive, you'll need strong collaboration skills, be comfortable working with disruptive technologies and at times question current practice.
If this sounds like you, we'd also like you to have:
- Relevant delivery experience in management consultancy, business cases and/or economics as a discipline, ideally across multiple sectors
- Excellent account leadership skills, i.e. winning work credentials
- Experience of developing a strategy and executing it, with positive outcomes
- Good technical knowledge of a range of Business Case and economics capabilities. Strong understanding of business case tools and techniques, e.g. HMT Green Book Five Cases, Logic Models, Options Appraisal, Monitoring & Evaluation
- Strong delivery skills and project management experience
- Excellent communication skills and proven track record of delighting clients
- Eagerness to develop new skills and commit to further expanding your knowledge within different areas of Strategic Advisory, working towards Management Consultant Chartership if desired
- Ability to manage projects and coach diverse teams of consultants
- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues and develop tailored solutions.
Office locations are flexible and the right person could be located in any of our Mott MacDonald offices within the UK. In addition periods of UK travel may be expected (and on rare occasions international business).
