As part of our continued support to our customer in the space sector we are looking for a CNC Technician to join us on a permanent or contract basis. The salary/rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority, etc. The role will be based at our customer’s facility in Stevenage and will involve shift work for which a premium will be paid.

The job holder will be engaged in a wide variety of CNC Machining process operations and performing mechanical activities to support the manufacture, assembly and test of satellite components and structures in this sought after this role.

Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform CNC machining of satellite panels and other work as instructed
- Support ad-hoc machining activities as requested (MESG, development requests )
- Core profiled to instruction
- Heat pipe trenches cut to instruction
- Holes drilled as per instruction
- Carry out machine setup and asset care routine
- Carry out routine compliance activities (daily, pre-use checks)
- In case of an anomaly or a deviation, observations are generated and escalated to local shift lead or quality individual
Qualifications
- HNC or HND in engineering/maintenance OR Apprenticeship in Aerospace/Space or other high quality production field
Desired Skills
Knowledge required
- Experience working in a high quality CNC Machining environment
- Experience working in a clean-room environment including knowledge of FOD/ESD practices
- General knowledge of Space systems, validation and verification
- Working at height experience
- Crane and slinging
- ISO 8 clean-room disciplines
- FOD/DIM awareness
