Havas Health Network is now recruiting for a Commercial Analyst to join on an FTC basis.
The role is a hybrid based in our office at King's Cross, London.
The role
This role is to take ownership of revenue and client affairs while providing support to the Commercial Manager and wider finance team. You will engage with stakeholders to provide financial insight and support. A key part of your role is to build your profile around the agency educating others to ensure their understanding of financial processes and that these are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of month-end reports with a focus on gross income, including preparation, review, and posting of the monthly income journal, and accrued and deferred income schedules.
- Income variance analysis and reporting.
- Monthly income forecast collation and review with the ability to interrogate values submitted by client leads.
- Offer proactive financial and commercial expertise and strong project support to major client’s teams
- Support project tracking and internal reporting on a monthly basis.
- Develop an understanding of client-related (external) and team (internal) affairs and their impact on the business.
- Use of analysis to support informed recommendations and aid decision-making.
- Advise on commercial best practices and company processes.
- Finance review of scopes and recommendations for improved pricing and billing schedules
- Understanding of client-related balance sheet items, including aged accrued/deferred income and WIP.
- Work with the internal client servicing teams to run WIP meetings, monitoring any actions and challenging financials of the agency.
- Overview of billing with an understanding of net working capital and the ability to identify bottlenecks.
- Timesheet analysis and (recoverability/burn) reporting at client and project level.
- Support the finance team with interim and year-end audit processes.
- Support with the implementation of the company’s new project management system.
- Credit control escalations.
- Commercial and financial process training.
- Assistance with billing in peak periods.
The person
- Previous experience of working in a creative agency environment is essential
- Part/full qualified, alternatively open to non-qualified candidates with sufficient industry experience (e.g PR, Advertising, Media).
- Establish effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial principles to non-finance colleagues.
- Willing to challenge and share your opinions confidently.
- Previous experience within financial/commercial analyst roles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
