Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit Commercial Assistant to work between our Cambridge and Peterborough Highway Services Contracts.
As a Commercial Assistant you will be part of our Commercial Team who are responsible for commercial and contract management on the contract
.
Both Peterborough and Cambridge contracts are long-term collaborative partnership between Milestone Infrastructure Ltd and Local City Councils. We deliver a wide range of services from transport planning and design through to construction and maintenance and play a vital role in keeping the cities moving and supporting its ambitious growth aspirations. This particular role is supporting our projects team; which deal sizable projects £1m-£22m sourced from separate funding schemes for the contracts. These projects can be complex cycleways and road widening improvements, refurbished and new bridges, new infrastructure and car parks and such alike.
As the Commercial Assistant your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Dealing with, and managing orders to and applications from, our approved subcontractors, including liaison with our subcontractors commercial and finance teams;
- Administration and processing supply chain requisitions and Task Orders Liaison with Commercial, Operational team personnel to ensure zero pothole orders are closed on time.
- Payment processing – reviewing/auditing supply chain applications for validity and appropriate certification/payless procedures.
- Deal with applications from sub-contractors and booking the cost to the correct orders
- Liaison with Commercial, Operational team personnel to ensure final accounts are done on time.
- Liaison with Commercial and Client team to ensure timely submission of payment application.
- Completing staff billing
- Updating and checking of site resource allocation sheets; this will require the candidate to be predominantly site based between Cambridge and Peterborough.
- Other administrative tasks.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- An O-level/GCSE in Mathematics is desirable,
- Able to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to input data accurately and quickly identify errors
- Methodical approach and ability to close-out tasks under a ‘right first time’ approach within tight deadlines
- Manage and prioritise own workload
- Flexible
