The Vacancy

Absolute Solar and Wind ltd, part of the RSK Group, are looking to appoint a Commercial Manager on a permanent basis. This role will be based out of the head office in Alexandria, Scotland and can be hybrid for the right person.

Absolute Solar and Wind (Absolute) is a leading renewable energy specialist company based near Loch Lomond, Scotland. We help businesses to install contemporary low-carbon technologies in solar, wind, biomass, and energy-efficiency solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Early contract involvement to include bid writing, tendering & estimating
• Contract reviews to include review of employer requirements.
• Offering financial and contractual direction and instruction to the project team, ensuring they understand key aspects of the contract.
• Overseeing financial key performance indicators (KPIs) of projects.
• Leading the WIP meeting in harmony with the other company functions.
• Supply chain management (including contract administration and procurement)
• Commercial document control and records
• Cost capture and control - Applications for payment
• Working with the project management team to ensure robust financial performance of various contracts.
• Placing of subcontract agreements
• Managing and mentoring the quantity surveying team
  
  
  

Qualifications / Experience:

• BSc (Hons) in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Ideally a membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CIOB, or ICE.
• Experience within a quantity surveying role, ideally within an SME
• Sound working knowledge of construction and contract law and various forms of Conditions of Contract
• Excellent client liaison, negotiating and people management skills.
• Extensive understanding of the construction and renewable energy industry.
