We are seeking a highly motivated Commissioning Engineer to join our team working on large scale M&E projects & hyperscale Data Centre projects within the UK, Ireland and Europe.
The Role
As a Commissioning Engineer at AVK you will provide technical assistance to the commissioning manager, and project delivery team to enable technical submittals and drawings to be prepared during the project life cycle, supervision of installations, pre-commissioning and completing final commissioning, testing and handover to the client.
You will be working with the following systems and equipment which would include.
- Single and multiple LV/HV generator systems
- Generator control systems including PLC controls
- Switchboards and their control systems
- Fuel systems including fuel transfer and fuel polishing systems
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Commissioning Manager by receiving commissioning fault calls from commissioning team in the first instance.
- To review client/customer technical specifications and drawings, working closely with the project team
- Participate in project / commissioning meetings and progress meetings with clients and consultants
- Carry out site surveys and reporting
- Carry out generator factory acceptance testing
- Supervise the installation of generator systems
- Complete testing and commissioning of generator systems to customer, consultants, and end user
- Provide technical support in the production of risk assessments, method statements and test documents
- Technical support and assistance to internal engineering department teams
- Always apply and maintain safe working practices

Requirements
- Relevant degree or diploma in electrical engineering or a related field
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and principles
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Full UK driving license
- Be available to work unsociable hours
- Travel throughout the UK and Europe when required
