What To Expect

The role of Communications Officer sits in JLR’s global Corporate Affairs and Motorsport (CA&M) chapter. CA&M owns the corporate communication strategy for the JLR business, ensuring high quality, integrated and impactful communications to engage, align and influence stakeholders. That includes internal (employee) and external (media, government, supplier) audiences through the effective management of JLR’s corporate communication channels.

Within manufacturing, internal communications has a critical role to play because effective communications have a direct impact on engagement, productivity and quality. With very limited access to email and digital channels, manufacturing communications requires a unique approach to ensuring all shopfloor colleagues have effective mechanisms to receive and respond to communications.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

  • Leading core communication channels at the plant, including the weekly Team Talk, Town Halls, new model launches, tactical plant campaigns newsletter, digital TV screens, face-to-face briefing materials and managing business critical employee briefs
  • Delivering written, film and photography assets to support planned and reactive plant communications including production and supplier communications and working with colleagues to develop, collate and identify compelling stories and features
  • Managing local events and producing digital content (videography and photography)
  • Sourcing and writing compelling stories for a manufacturing audience, reflecting our Reimagine strategy and Creators’ Code values and behaviours and supporting the global Corporate Affairs team with news, campaign and internal communications
  • Producing and maintaining key communications across channels including email briefs, digital screens, One Team Fifteen briefs and the ‘Our JLR’ App

What You'll Need

  • Possess a solid understanding of internal communications channels and measurement, including working knowledge and experience of software tools such as Poppulo, MailChimp, SnapComms
  • Have a passion and purpose to deliver exceptional results in a high-performing teams
  • Have the ability to plan communications campaigns and allocate work to the team to support delivery
  • Demonstrable experience producing internal communications that are relevant and engaging
  • Possess the ability to identify and produce good stories from across the business
