As part of our ambitious Mains Renewal Programme, we are looking for a talented and dynamic Community Liaison Manager to lead our dedicated team of Community Liaison Officers and ensure smooth, transparent communication with stakeholders across the region.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As our Community Liaison Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring we deliver the best possible customer experience while meeting key business goals. The successful candidate will manage and motivate a team of Community Liaison Officers across four regions.

We are looking for a inspirational leader to coach, mentor, and deliver exceptional outcomes for our stakeholders. Seeing things from a different lens and execute a robust stakeholder communication plan to ensure all stakeholders are informed before, during, and after works in their communities.

Another area of focus will be escalated Complaints, you’ll own escalated customer complaints, working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to find prompt resolutions.

You’ll also act as the main point of contact for external organisations, including MPs, councils, regulators, and key industry bodies such as OFWAT, DEFRA, and Water UK. Build and keep strong relationships to ensure positive outcomes.

Thinking outside the box is key to success, bespoke policies and processes for stakeholder management and refine KPIs to measure and enhance the impact of our communication programme.

Mobile and Flexible Working: Travel across the Severn Trent region as needed to provide on-the-ground support and hyper-care during escalated situations.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

We are looking for someone who brings passion, ability, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Significant experience managing stakeholders in complex environments, ideally within the utilities or water industry.
  • Skilled in engaging with diverse stakeholders and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Proven leadership skills, with a record of accomplishment of managing teams across geographically dispersed regions:
  • Experienced in leading and motivating teams in multiple locations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Experience resolving escalated complaints and handling external relationships with organisations such as government bodies or regulators:
  • Proficient in managing high-stakes situations and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to drive efficiency while delivering impactful communications,
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and business operations, with a focus on cost savings and process improvements.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

The successful candidate will have experience in in communications or customer-focused roles. Being familiar with large-scale infrastructure projects and their impacts on communities would be beneficial.

Stakeholder management and relationship-building skills would be required. A full UK driving license is essential.
