The Group Compliance Function’s aim is to proactively support Willis Towers Watson to generate sustainable value, helping the company to deliver good client outcomes, manage its conduct, protect against regulatory risk, and to maintain strong regulatory relationships. We aim to be a trusted partner to the business. Within Willis Towers Watson’s internal control system, we form part of the Second Line of Defence, as a function independent from daily business activities.The role is hybrid (twice a week in office) at Ipswich.

The Role:

Reporting to the Compliance Director Regulatory within a team of skilled colleagues, the Compliance Analyst is a key contributor to the departments’ aim of maintaining an efficient, independent Compliance Function and framework, principally through:

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

1. Identify, Plan and Apply: 

  • Support the development, implementation, embedding and maintenance of an efficient and independent Compliance Function. 
  • Oversee and maintain the global regulatory strategy framework. 
  • Production, review and analysis of internal and external reports, including metrics, to identify emerging regulatory issues and trends 
  • Support horizon scanning for regulatory developments and reporting any new or proposed regulation or legislation that may impact the Relevant Business to relevant business and Compliance stakeholders. 
  • Support the Relevant Business in assessing and understanding the impact of new and/or amended regulation or legislation and delivery (as required) or corresponding actions


2. Support:

  • Support the Regulatory Strategy Team through the maintenance of the regulatory change database, key compliance documents and systems. 
  • Support the Compliance Director for Captives, Risk and Analytics and ICT
  • Support the Global Policy lead
  • Support the wider Compliance Function in ad-hoc strategic or operational projects as requested. 
  • Record keeping in line with regulatory requirements and/or WTW policies and procedures.


3. Monitor:

  • Deliver requested information and reporting to relevant stakeholders within the Compliance Function. 
  • Under the direction of the Compliance Director of Captives, Risk and Analytics and ICT, undertake required monitoring activity
  • Review existing WTW policies, process and controls against emerging regulatory requirements. 


4. Engagement:

  • Partnering with management in the Relevant Business to embed ‘compliance culture’ throughout the business and to champion the Three Lines of Defence model. 
  • Support the maintenance of effective relationships with regulators and relevant supervisory authorities or self-regulating bodies. 
  • Represent WTW in relevant industry or similar associations or groups as appropriate. 
  • Foster close relationships with Global Compliance colleagues and other Functions including Legal, Risk and Internal Audit.
