Job Summary
To act as the liaison between CWML and our contractors to ensure that work is conducted safely and in line with the requirements set out in the permit-to-work procedure.
Salary: £40,000

Main Responsibilities
- To undertake pre-, during, and post-works supervision and monitoring inspections to verify that contractors work according to their agreed RAMS.
- To undertake a pre-work site inspection with the contractor to confirm that the works are safe to commence and that agreed control measures, as identified on the permit to work and authorisation to access, are being followed. Subject to business needs occasionally support teams in issuing permit to works at the location of works following pre works inspection and review of documentation in the permit system .
- To review contractor RAMS, competency and equipment certificates before contractor works are carried out as required.
- Where contractor non-compliance or unsafe practices are observed, halt the works and decide whether they are safe to proceed.
- To notify the QCM and escalate to the BSM any non-compliance or unsafe practices immediately and follow up with written notification
- To log results from monitoring visits onto the corporate database and to provide monthly reports to the QCM on compliance rates.
- To review compliance Items with the QCM and HSW team and other CWH departments as and when required
- From time to time undertake out of hour works and weekend shifts as per business requirements
- Undertake Regular Audits of Landlord areas and prepare reports to QCM and BSM.
- Responsible for monitoring and controlling roof access to ensure safety and compliance, including tracking personnel, maintaining logs.
- Provide support to the Quality Control Manager (QCM) and Permit Team with any reasonable requests.
What We Require Of You
- NEBOSH General Certificate/equivalent (mandatory)
- Working at height training (desirable)
- Knowledge of fire safety/ /confined spaces (desirable)
- Electrical qualification (desirable)
- Asbestos qualification (desirable)
- Laboratory safety knowledge (desirable)
- Gas safety knowledge (desirable)
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, tenants, and contractors by phone and email. (mandatory)
- Strong organisational skills to manage a high volume of electronic permit applications and visitor requests. (mandatory)
- Excellent customer service skills to assist individuals with permit inquiries.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. (desirable)
- Willingness to adapt to changes in procedures and regulations regarding permits. (desirable)
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations about permits (mandatory)
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines (desirable)
