Job Title: Content Manager (Books)
Salary: £28,800 - £32,250 starting salary
Location: Cambridge, UK. Hybrid with ideally 2 days in the office per week
Contract: Permanent, full time with flexible options considered
Join us in this exciting role, as part of the Academic Content Operations department in the History, Psychology, Linguistics and Trade Team, responsible for managing the production and publication of print and digital products across a range of subject areas.
We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.
About The Role
As Content Manager, you will liaise with external contacts (editors and authors, including high-profile academics) and internal colleagues (Editorial, Design, Digital publishing, Marketing, Publicity and Sales), as well as external suppliers, to achieve the best results for Cambridge and the academic community.
This role is ideal for a person who can be both innovative and organised; we have a high volume of content to handle alongside our improvement initiatives. Excellent communication skills and efficiency are key for this role, along with problem solving skills and an ability to be forward-thinking with a willingness to trial new workflows.
You will be provided with ongoing training and development opportunities to support our products and your own career goals. Content Managers sit within Content Operations, the team responsible for the publication processes and quality assurance for our Academic books, Elements and journals. There are therefore opportunities to learn more about other content types and subjects and we encourage learning and flexibility.
About You
You have a strong relationship with our core values of collaboration, responsibility, empowerment and innovation. You will have great organisational skills, thrive on working with other colleagues and independently, and will enjoy developing relationships and building trust with key external and internal contacts. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and coming up with and implementing new ideas for ways of working.
Your experience from a previous publishing role gives you insights into the key priorities for our industry, in particular the Academic business. You are familiar with the pressures and priorities for our customers and be confident in corresponding with external and internal colleagues at any level of seniority. You are dependable, engaged and able to tackle problems with a ‘can-do' attitude to set us up for success in an evolving industry landscape.
