About The Service

We are looking for a community development coordinator to develop and lead our Service in Northamptonshire. How you'll make a difference:

As community development coordinator you will:

  • Set up and manage a volunteer and buddy recruitment scheme to match volunteers to Action for Children led groups and recruit buddies to support young people accessing community services on a one-to-one basis
  • Coordinate and manage multi agency panels
  • By overseeing the activities between the volunteers and young people, ensuring they are safe, stimulating and fun.
  • By demonstrating the benefits of the service to social work teams and commissioners and facilitating ongoing referrals.
  • By publicising and promoting volunteering opportunities with individuals, community groups, professionals, and other relevant agencies and to scrutinise applications form potential volunteers.
  • By ensuring young people in care are benefitting from supportive and caring relationships with their volunteers that positively impact their wellbeing and life chances.
  • By delivering an integrated service that is flexible to meet the changing needs of children and families and delivers earlier intervention through greater choice and access to non-residential activities.
  • To support the development of inclusive communities by working with existing organisations in the community.

What you'll need:

  • A minimum Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent in a related field (e.g. teaching).
  • Experience and /or skills in recruitment, training, and supervision.
