About The Role

This is an opportunity for someone looking to progress their career in the Wealth Management industry, within an Operations environment, supporting the Asset Servicing team.
The Asset Servicing team encompasses two functions that are central to the key operational responsibility of the safe keeping of client assets: dividend and corporate action administration. The vacancy exists within the Corporate Actions area.
Corporate Actions administration requires the monitoring of various information feeds for corporate event activity that might impact client assets held in our custody. Once identified, events are transposed onto in-house systems that, where applicable, are used for obtaining the event specific action and requirements of each client. On receiving client requirements, the corporate events are actioned in the market or through our custodians and updated on client valuations and custody records to reflect the outcome and impact of the event concerned.
The team also deal with other aspects of asset servicing such as responding to shareholder disclosure requests and actioning client voting instructions for shareholder meetings.
The role involves liaising with other teams within Operations, internal client facing teams, external custodians, and transfer agencies/registrars.
Key responsibilities:
- Recognition and accurate interpretation of all corporate action types, received from various sources such as global custodians, data providers and LSE bulletins.
- Publishing corporate action information to investment managers using our in-house notification system.
- Maintaining accurate corporate event information within the departmental diary system.
- Carrying out the acceptance process of all corporate event types.
- Identifying, monitoring, and settling claims arising from corporate action events.
- Processing of corporate action outturn securities, allocating entitlements to relevant clients.
- Reconciling securities subject to or received as a result of corporate action events.
- Assisting with event checking processes.
Consumer Duty
Whilst this is not a directly customer facing role, the duties you will perform will contribute to the overall positive outcomes for our customers by ensuring that the benefits to which they are entitled on investments they hold in our custody are properly identified and protected.
About You
As part of a small team administering UK & Overseas Corporate Actions, the successful candidate will undertake responsibilities that make a vital contribution to the overall corporate event process and are critical to the efficient running of the department.
In being able to demonstrate the skills and competencies details below the ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a corporate actions or dividend environment. Good communication skills and a methodical and organised approach are essential, as is total accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
Skills & Competencies:
- Thorough understanding of corporate action or dividend administration, preferably gained within a custodian or nominee background.
- Understanding of claims procedures.
- Computer literate, with a particular emphasis on proficiency with MS Office products.
- Able to work to specified deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
