The project will require skilled, COSS’s working IWA. As a COSS of this project, you will be required to plan your works effectively, follow all Kelly Rail Policies, Procedures, and work closely with the SSOW planner and follow the Safe system of works laid out. You should have a focus and intricate knowledge of Safe system of works procedures and methods. Communication skills essential.
- Ensuring all staff are fully aware of life saving rules and Kelly Rail UK Values: Safety, Integrity, Delivery, Excellence, Customer and Teamwork
- Consistently emphasise the importance of Life Saving Rules and Kelly Rail UK Values to all site staff
- Briefing site staff on all aspects of the Safe System of Work and ensuring that all understand the safety risks of each job undertaken on or near the line (if required)
- Assist in the planning of tasks and will be important in deciding whether any late changes to the plan can be accepted
- Manage operational and task safety risks when working on the rail infrastructure
- Compliance with all COSS/IWA duties on site at all times including accessing site and completing documentation
- Timekeeping and management
HSQE Responsibilities
- Be aware and compliant with all Kelly Rail UK safety policies, procedures and company values and ensuring all that site staff are aware of the importance of following the safe systems of work
- Compliance with NWR safety standards and ensuring all site staff are aware of the importance
- In Depth knowledge of NWR rule book
- Reporting any accidents or incidents to your Team Leader and Supervisor within the timeline stated within the company procedure.
- Report close calls/near misses in a timely manner
- Invoke the ‘Work Safe’ procedure in unsafe situations
Operational Responsibilities
- Awareness of Client requirements and any specifications of jobs being undertaken
- Completion of site paperwork in line with Kelly Rail UK procedures
