We are looking to hire in Counterparty Credit Risk, specifically focusing on Commodities. This individual will be responsible for all aspects associated with approving commodities trading counterparties, limit setting and ongoing monitoring. This individual will work within Treasury and have strong connectivity to the business. They will also have to partner with Risk Management, Legal, Operations and IT.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the creditworthiness and financial stability of the firm's counterparties, specifically those that we face off with when it comes to commodities trading
- Examine transactions/trading strategies/portfolios and establish risk appetite and limit framework(s)
- Conduct regular analysis to identify: emerging trends, portfolio concentrations or ongoing risks
- Stay abreast of regulations
- Conduct ongoing due diligence
- Appraise senior management on any or all of the above
- Build and maintain relationships with various departments within the firm
Skills & Experience Required
- Substantial previous experience in credit risk management with a focus on Commodities Credit Risk
- Knowledge of the counterparty landscape and ability to conduct in-depth credit due diligence
- Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and conduct business negotiations
- Strong understanding of regulatory rating requirements and the application of such guidelines
- Excellent documentation, analytical, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively – mostly to senior executives of the firm and with portfolio managers
