Course Leader and Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education


£38,268.36 - £43,045.68 + £2000 Course Leader responsibility allowance

An exciting opportunity has arisen at University Campus Oldham (Higher Education at Oldham College) for a Course Leader/Lecturer in Initial Teacher Training.


We are looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic academic to be course leader and teach on our Initial Teacher Education (Further Education) courses. In addition, the post holder will also lead and deliver on the Masters in Education courses. We want a candidate that is passionate about the development of the further education teaching workforce, and that will help us shape our provision.

Delivering excellence in teaching and learning, the successful candidate will ensure the professional standards for teachers are met. You will lead on the development and implementation of a dynamic, innovative and high quality, Initial Teacher Education (Further Education) and Masters in Education offer. As course leader you will be responsible for the recruitment and admissions of trainees, implementation and monitoring of a robust mentoring model and ensuring that the provision is constantly meeting regulatory requirements.


Qualified to Masters level, the successful candidate should also possess an appropriate teaching qualification. Relevant sector experience of Initial Teacher Education (ITE) is essential for this post. You will need to be organised, innovative, and have the drive to further support the growth of the provision and outcomes of the trainees.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, which will include a teaching/observation commitment of 630 hours per academic year.
