Role: Demand Planner
Location: Bognor Regis, UK
The Inventory Demand Planner will analyse and anticipate the demand for EMEA and Distribution Client products and plan for continuous, cost-effective supply. Balance availability with overall cost of stock; ensuring that financial and service level stock targets are met, global inventory policies and strategies adhered to. Forecast and action Reprints, First Prints and inter-warehouse replenishments to maintain book stock at agreed levels to meet demand across the EMEA region.
Seeking an intermediate level professional position that requires experience in functional area, but incumbent is still acquiring knowledge and experience in discipline. Solves a range of straightforward problems using knowledge learned on the job and by applying standard procedures. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from manager.
How you will make an impact:
- Demand/Supply Planning - using various planning software alongside dialogue and collaboration with other internal departments to monitor/forecast demand and stock levels and action timely, accurate replenishments.
- Maintain forecasts at SKU and DC level
- Track forecast vs actual volumes to determine reasons for inaccuracies and ensure use of best-fit statistical models.
- Maintaining inventory master data, including safety stock levels, to align with agreed inventory strategies and service levels.
- Propose methods of improving forecasting/planning and other key processes.
- Digital Print set-up – identify titles appropriate for digital manufacture. Ensure titles are costed, set-up and ordered in a timely manner.
- Collaboration and co-ordination with inventory operational functions.
- Ensure stock planning is co-ordinated with warehouse inventory management requirements to streamline inbound and operational processes.
- Sarbanes-Oxley (SOXA) Compliance
- Know, understand and comply with the controls and processes for Inventory Management
- Take on any special/ad-hoc improvement projects as required, such as supporting systems development in testing new/updated functions
- Attend Publishing/Sales & Operations Planning meetings as required, occasionally deputizing for department manager.
