We are looking to recruit a Design CAD Technician on a 6mth Fixed Term Contract to provide design and technical support for the Marshalls Civils & Drainage product ranges. Primarily focussing on our Sealed Manhole products, with an exposure to our Linear Drainage products, Structural products & Water Management products.

What's the mission?

Produce drawings, renders, calculations and engineering support to a high standard ensuring compliance with Marshalls and wider industry processes and standards.

You will work with the Head of Design & Engineering to develop our design and technical support offer.

Your responsibilities will also include actively maintaining and improving standard detail drawings and technical design information for all products. You will contribute to the team's growth by sharing knowledge and delivering training to less experienced colleagues and the wider Sales Team.

Additionally, you will attend client meetings to provide technical expertise and support sales initiatives, ensuring our clients receive the highest level of service and guidance. This position combines technical proficiency, collaboration, and mentorship to drive excellence in design and engineering.

What are the Mission Critical Skills needed?

• Experience working within a design and technical environment.
• Ability to work within design standards / codes.
• Experience in engineering Bills of Materials
• Problem solving skills.
• Proficient in the use of 2D CAD.
• Ability to communicate and build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Be able to demonstrate flexibility to adapt and respond to change.
• Self-motivated and proven ability to consistently meet project deadlines. 

Desirable:

• Experience in drainage design.
• Qualified to HNC level or higher in civil engineering related subject.
• Ability to produce 3D rendered drawings.
• Experience with BIM software and ability to produce digital models.
