The Development Team supports this mission through the design, development and deployment of reliable, functionally rich and market leading software. The purpose of the Developer role is to fully engage and contribute to the software development process within Tribal, operating with a high degree of competence and professionalism.

Maytas is a flexible learning management solution for training providers, employers, and universities. It tracks learners, personnel, employers, and resources in a single database, offering a comprehensive view of an organization’s training activities. Maytas simplifies administration, supports various training types, and manages funding, objective tracking, and evidence submission.

This role will be based in Lancaster and would require attendance to the office on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The role

We are excited to be bringing on a Developer to fully participate and contribute to the software maintenance and development process at Tribal, specifically on the Maytas product. We’re looking for someone to join us, demonstrating a high level of competence and professionalism.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• To carry out all fundamental software development activity.
• To translate user requirements, functional and technical specifications into appropriate and clearly understood design, architecture and technical output.
• To develop using well known development techniques, industry standard design principles, frameworks and patterns, following agreed standards and approaches.
• To understand and adhere to current secure coding standards.
• To undertake impact analysis of new features/defect fixes, and document according to standard.
• Support with the transition from desktop to web based platform.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in back-end technologies like .net, .net core, Java or similar.

Expertise in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript is essential, particularly with frameworks like Angular or React/Next.

The candidate should have experience in crafting optimized SQL queries along with some exposure to deploying code to cloud infrastructure, using best in class CI/CD techniques, would be beneficial.

Additionally, a background in development with an in-depth understanding of software engineering and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems is necessary.
