We’re looking for a Director, B2B Beyond Core to join our team in London, UK

Job Purpose

  • Support the VP and the C&O leadership in articulating a strategic, commercial view on the European B2B market with a focus on growing revenues from near-core and ICT/cloud products & services. Create a work plan behind this view, enabling a structured approach to building, buying or partnering towards revenue growth in B2B.
  • Support and drive the development of new products and services across the LG operating companies and the central organization. In order to do so, coordinate work streams and ensure optimal collaboration between Opco’s, Strategy, LG Tech etc.
  • Drive, support and lead the commercial/operational side of strategic programs to ensure successful activation: such as bringing a product of solution from one Opco into another, or lead an M&A track for one or more of the Opco’s to acquire a B2B target company.

Key Accountabilities

  • CVP & Product: define the required set of Products & Services to successfully grow revenues in the B2B/SME segment. Work with the Opco’s and central teams to identify promising new products, or copy existing success formula into other markets.Support the implementation of those into the market.
  • Partnerships: act as the central point of coordination for the main partnerships in B2B, including the hyperscalers (Google, Amazon, Microsoft), the System Integrators (Accenture, CAP, others) and others like consultancies. Set up a structured approach to partnership management to ensure a structural and consistent approach to partnering – working closely together with the counterparts in LG Tech.
  • Capabilities: define what capabilities are required in the Opco’s to be successful in growing revenues in SME – such as G2M/Sales, IT/platforms and others. Define then support and lead programs, work streams, initiatives to create or grow these capabilities (build, partner, buy).
  • M&A: Support the VP in coordinating between the various parties to ensure that inorganic growth is enabled by focused M&A activities. Drive the process through knowledge sharing and collaboration; include consultancies when needed and ensure the proper focus from the central M&A team.
  • Peer insights: arrange for regular knowledge sharing and inspirational sessions with telco peers (like Telstra, Rogers, Telus, VF, TIM, etc) and pro-actively search for new telco’s or other relevant companies.
  • Support the VP in operating and budget reviews on the B2B topics; provide non-recurring analytical and performance insights in order to make informed decisions; ensure follow-through on commercial and operational questions, issues and opportunities.
  • Prepare the commercial & operations paragraphs related to B2B for operating and strategic meetings where applicable and required (e.g. 360’s, ELT, COC, IC and Ventures) to support VP and hence SVP/MD C&O
  • Collaborate with VPs and Directors from across LG and the OpCos (finance, technology, strategy, legal and the people team) to ensure alignment and coordination across departments. Facilitate communication and collaboration to achieve shared business objectives in the commercial/operations domain.
  • Stay informed about commercial, operational and technological trends and innovations relevant to the industry.

  • Fluent in English

Desirable Skills & Abilities

  • Relevant years’ experience in corporate strategy and/or commercial / B2B environments
  • Relevant years’ experience in business / management consulting
  • Proven track record in strategic thinking, transformation management, commercial management, operations
  • Deep industry knowledge in telco, media and adjacent industries
