Abingdon School is a prestigious independent school, educating approximately 1000 students aged 11-18. Located in 35 acres of beautiful grounds at the heart of Abingdon, just south of Oxford, we offer an inspiring environment for both academic and extracurricular excellence.

Abingdon School Enterprises Limited (trading as Abingdon Sports and Leisure ASE) plays a pivotal role in supporting the school both operationally and commercially through management of the Foundation's sport and leisure facilities including the Sports Centre, Tilsley Park, and Amey Theatre.

Duty Manager - The Role

We are looking for two enthusiastic, motivated, and adaptable Duty Managers to join our team and help manage the day-to-day operations of Abingdon Sports Centre and Tilsley Park.

Duty Manager - Key Responsibilities

• Handle a wide range of duties, including customer liaison and lifeguarding (Sports Centre only)
• Assist with school activities, external bookings at both sites, and provide general administrative support
• Deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate strong administrative skills, with a good level of IT proficiency
• Work collaboratively as part of a team on a shift pattern, which includes some evening and weekend work
  
  

Duty Manager - About You

• Previous experience in customer service or facility management is essential
• A proactive, adaptable, and can-do attitude, with the ability to work under pressure and take initiative
• Friendly and professional, with outstanding customer service skills and a positive approach to problem-solving
• Strong IT skills and a keen eye for detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Eagerness to learn and develop, with a willingness to attend training and gain relevant qualifications
• Committed to safeguarding children and young people
• Able to understand and meet the needs of diverse customers, especially children and young people
• Previous experience in the sports or leisure industry is desirable but not essential
