PoGo Charge are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead the electrical engineering aspects of our EV Charing Point installations.
The role will involve the design and specification of electrical equipment, review of DNO designs, battery technology and power generation, value engineering and much more. It is critical that the right candidate has a background in DNO or ICP along with a very keen eye for detail and precision when reviewing drawings and specifications.
This role is home based with regular travel to office/site.
Key responsibilities:
- Engage with Network Development team on power requirements and site limitations
- Creation and ongoing ownership of an Electrical Operating Procedure
- Completion of site specific electrical designs
- Specification of electrical equipment
- Review of internal and external drawings and designs
- Ensure all projects comply with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines
- Provide technical guidance to team as required
- Attend and contribute to project meetings
- Implementation of battery technologies and power generation opportunities
- Conduct regular drawing reviews, ensuring that drawings are technically correct and appropriate, represent best value and address risk whilst complying with all legal requirements
- Maintain standards of design competency within the team
- Engage with outsource design capacity, managing workload, timeliness and quality
- Engage Standard Drawing library and templates, updating and improving as appropriate
- Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing at all levels in the organisation
- Able to work under pressure and make important decisions
- Electrical engineering experience is essential
- Design experience is ideal
- Battery industry experience preferred
- Excellent administration and co-ordination skills to ensure drawings are controlled
- Strong motivation to deliver with a well-organised and structured approach
- Ability to work autonomously but aware of when to escalate situations
- Team player who actively seeks out continuous improvement
- Hands on electrical background
- Technical design experience essential
- EV Charging and/or Battery industry experience preferred
- AutoCAD literacy ideal
- Experienced background in DNO’s or ICP (beneficial)
- Knowledge of NERS requirements
- Experience, or good understanding, of the requirements of EV charging installation
- Degree qualified (advantageous)
- Experience with ElectricalOM or similar
- Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years
- Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
