This role is responsible for assessing, analysing, and improving the quality of data across Chubb. This role involves working closely with data SME, IT, and business teams to identify data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures. The Data Governance Analyst also supervise data quality metrics and support the maintenance of data governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Data Quality Assessment & Analysis:
- Perform regular data quality assessments to identify issues related to data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
- Analyse large datasets to detect data quality problems, such as duplicates, missing data, and inconsistencies.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify the underlying reasons for data quality issues.
Data Quality Improvement
- Work with data SME and IT teams to implement data cleansing, data standardisation, and other data quality improvement processes.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to resolve data quality issues.
- Assist in the development and implementation of data quality rules and standards.
Data Monitoring & Reporting
- Start to build data quality metrics and KPIs to ensure ongoing data quality.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports that provide insight into data quality status and trends.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on data quality findings and progress.
Collaboration & Support
- Collaborate with business units to understand their data quality requirements and address specific data-related challenges.
- Support data governance initiatives, regulatory requirements by ensuring data quality standards are adhered to.
- Provide support and mentorship to other team members on data quality best practices.
Documentation
- Document data quality issues, processes, and resolutions.
- Maintain documentation of data quality rules, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications
Requirements & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, Information Technology, Data Management, Statistics, or a related field.
- Certifications in Data Management, Data Quality, or related fields (e.g., CDMP, IQCP) are advantageous but not required.
- Proven experience in data analysis, data quality management, or data governance in Insurance or similar finance industry.
- Experience working with large datasets and relational databases (e.g., SQL).
- Experience with data quality tools (e.g., Informatica, Qliksense, PowerBI)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data querying and reporting.
- Familiarity with data governance principles and standard processes.
- Attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and reliability.
- Good communication skills to convey data quality issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is an advantage.
- Experience with Databricks, Alteryx, AI migrations is a 'nice to have'
