Endoscopy Nurse | Winfield Hospital | Full Time 37.5 hours
As a key member of the Clinical Team, the Endoscopy Nurse support the Endoscopy Lead to the delivery of the strategic vision of the department.
The successful candidate will have some experience of working within an endoscopy department and demonstrate skills that will enhance patient care and customer experience, whilst facilitating the best possible clinical outcomes. A commitment to the development of high quality evidence based acute care is essential, combined with the tenacity and passion required to drive commercial success in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.
Reporting to the Theatre Manager and/or Endoscopy Lead, the successful candidate will:
- Provide leadership and management for all of the theatre staff
- Develop strong relationships with existing heads of departments to aid efficiency.
- Assist the Endoscopy Lead in running the unit while ensuring compliance with all statutory and Ramsay Health Care UK quality standards and policies
- Assist with clinically based projects in the designed to improve patient experience
- Experience of JAG accreditation is preferable but not essential
The successful candidate will be responsible assisting the clinical lead in maintaining JAG Accreditation and helping to improve efficiency within the endoscopy department. Roles to include: auditing; staff training; and maintenance of equipment service register.
The ideal candidate will have
- A strong clinical background in an acute hospital setting
- Professional Registration with the NMC/HCPC
- Excellent communication skills
- Some evidence of working in an endoscopy unit

About Us
This role is based at Winfield Hospital, which is a leading private hospital on the outskirts of Gloucester. We have 3 fully equipped theatres, with a 6 bedded recovery, particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures, a dedicated endoscopy unit, and 12 outpatient consulting rooms with associated examination and treatment facilities. Other outpatient facilities include physiotherapy, pharmacy, audiology, x-ray, ultrasound, visiting MRI and CT.
The endoscopy suite has one procedure room and a 3 bedded recovery attached. Patients are admitted to the ward and discharged from the endoscopy suite.
