JOB TITLE: ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT
Key Responsibilities
- Establish the global framework for the technology vision, strategy, and portfolio-level roadmaps for Petrofac's business units.
- Partner with the Head of departments and CIO, to ensure IT initiatives drive measurable business outcomes.
- Working alongside the other IT Leaders develop the business unit IT roadmaps ensuring they are aligned with the respective business goals and objectives.
- Create and maintain a five-year enterprise technology roadmap, covering advanced technologies and hybrid cloud solutions
- Act as the key advisor to the board and executive committees on technology strategy, presenting architectural updates, roadmaps, and value-driven initiatives.
- Maintain an integrated architecture reference plan, covering strategic products, tools, best practices and technologies.
- Map the architecture plan against the strategic business plan to ensure alignment to existing business goals.
- Help rationalize the technology portfolio by reviewing and streamlining the existing application portfolio to improve efficiency, reduce complexity, and lower the total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Own the standards that provide guidance on how to build and integrate solutions the right way ensuring interoperability of systems across the enterprise.
- Establish and manage an architectural framework that decentralizes architecture across the IT Operating model while maintaining architectural integrity.
- Embrace the DevOps mindset, allowing the architecture to evolve continuously while supporting current users’ needs.
- Apply principles of agility, adaptability, and continuous improvement to the realm of enterprise architecture.
- Signify a paradigm shift in how the organization approach their architectural strategy by adopting a lean agile mindset.
- Build and lead a high-performing global architecture team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide consultancy to the IT teams in terms of technology direction and technology solution development.
- Conduct analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture and develop and maintain technology plan covering short and long term technology roadmaps and standards.
- Conduct comprehensive review of existing on premise IT Landscape, Azure Cloud, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure ensuring alignment with best practices, security standards, and cloud architectural guidelines driving operational and cost efficiency.
- Ensure data management & technology architecture and governance standards are implemented as part of solution architecture and design.
- Collaborate with other Architects (Security, Data, Application) to establish and implement architecture standards and roadmap.
- Evaluating and recommending sustainable and technically sound architectures that strike the balance between Business Process Requirements, Cost, Supportability and Extensibility
- Contribute to managing and optimising the IT budget including help drive cost reduction Initiatives
- Optimize resource allocation and ensure sustainable, technically sound architectures that balance business process requirements, cost, and extensibility.
- Influence decision-making at all levels by leveraging expertise in technology trends, compliance, and industry best practices.
- Operates in a highly complex and dynamic environment, requiring the ability to solve multi-dimensional challenges at a global scale. The role involves analyzing and resolving intricate technical, operational, and strategic issues by integrating cutting-edge technologies and aligning them with Petrofac’s business goals. The individual must evaluate diverse and often conflicting business requirements, identify technology solutions that address short- and long-term objectives, and ensure interoperability and scalability across the organization’s global IT landscape.
- Requires collaboration with C-suite stakeholders, IT leaders, and cross-functional teams to address evolving business demands, ensuring that solutions are both technically robust and aligned with Petrofac's long-term strategic vision. By applying principles of agility and adaptability, the Enterprise Architect resolves complex challenges to deliver transformative outcomes for the business.
- Balances the competing needs of standardization, flexibility, and innovation by implementing solutions that optimize the application portfolio, reduce complexity, and enable business agility.
Essential Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Few years of proven experience in enterprise architecture, with a strong understanding of technology strategy and portfolio management.
- Enterprise Architecture qualification such as TOGAF.
- Experience in rationalizing technology portfolios and streamlining application portfolios.
- Strong knowledge and qualifications in architectural frameworks and standards.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and principles.
- Good Knowledge of Azure Cloud with strong understanding of security principles and best practices in cloud environments.
- In-depth knowledge of various integration options available in Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure including API management, Azure Logic Apps, and Service Bus.
- Strong understanding of data architecture principles and data modelling techniques.
- Proficiency in Azure data services, including Data Lake Storage Gen2, Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Experience with data integration tools and technologies, such as ETL, ELT, and API integration.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
- Ability to apply principles of agility, adaptability, and continuous improvement to enterprise architecture.
- Excellent leadership and communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive change and achieve strategic objectives.
