Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ESG Controller to oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our global ESG reporting strategy. This is a key role responsible for ensuring that our non-financial (ESG) disclosures are consistent, complete, accurate, and verifiable. As the ESG Controller, you will manage the governance and controls needed to meet compliance requirements and align our policies and processes with sustainability objectives. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, and other departments to ensure our ESG disclosures adhere to regulatory standards, including TCFD, CSRD, ISSB, and more.

How You'll Contribute

  • Regulatory Monitoring: Identify and track global ESG regulations, reporting standards, and industry trends.
  • Governance & Compliance: Establish governance over ESG data collection, validation, and reporting. Ensure full oversight, including executive and board-level review.
  • Assurance Plans: Develop and manage limited and reasonable assurance plans to meet ESG regulatory compliance. Partner with external auditors for ESG audits.
  • Process Integration: Work with reporting functions to operationalize controls ensuring ESG disclosures are consistent, complete, accurate, and verifiable.
  • Training: Develop and conduct training for key data owners and reporting partners on compliance, internal processes, and tools.
  • EU Taxonomy & Reporting: Lead efforts in the EU Taxonomy eligibility and alignment assessment. Take charge of sustainability and climate risk quantification for the TCFD report.
  • Sustainability Investment Planning: Lead the development of an internal multi-year investment plan to align sustainability targets with transition planning.
  • Integration with Finance: Serve as a bridge between sustainability and finance teams, ensuring effective data management, oversight, and reporting.
  • Close Process Integration: Integrate ESG reporting into the existing financial close calendar.
  • Project Delivery: Support ad-hoc sustainability projects and initiatives for the VP of Finance Governance and Director of Sustainability.

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • 3+ years of experience in auditing or accountancy with a professional background in financial reporting, auditing, and assurance.
  • Familiarity with non-financial reporting standards (IFRS/ISSB/EFRAG/GRI/SASB) and frameworks (CDP/TCFD/SBTi/Ecovadis).
  • Strong analytical, written, communication, and program management skills.
  • Ability to navigate uncertainty and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to align on strategic priorities.
  • Ability to integrate sustainability considerations into financial reporting aligned with IFRS.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships across diverse teams and geographies.
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn in a dynamic, evolving environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Passion for sustainability and integrating sustainability into financial strategy.
  • Independent, proactive, and capable of influencing and communicating effectively at all levels.

Desirable

  • Experience implementing sustainability reporting frameworks in publicly traded companies.
  • Knowledge of international standards and regulatory initiatives relevant to sustainable finance (e.g., TCFD, EU Taxonomy, CSRD).
