We have an exciting opportunity for an Ethical & Sustainability Specialist to join our team in London. The role reports into the Head of Quality and Sustainability with management responsibility for the Ethical & Sustainability Assistant.
It is a varied role that covers ethical sourcing, product sustainability, and our work to Net Zero.
Hybrid working: 3 das in the London, Victoria Head Office and 2 days remote.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing the Sustainability Assistant.
- Maintaining up to date supplier ethical data through SEDEX/ supplier management.
- Maintaining acceptable in-date SMETA/ BSCI supplier audits and driving continuous improvement.
- Improving supplier mapping beyond direct manufacturing factories, focusing on high-risk supply chains.
- Writing the annual modern slavery report.
- Managing supplier on-boarding, ensuring new suppliers ethics align with ours.
- Compiling ethical risk assessments and supplier scorecards to facilitate remediation focus.
- Delivery of ethical and sustainable training internally and to suppliers.
- Supporting sustainable development initiatives and networking with third-party experts in their field to deliver opportunities.
- Maintaining compliance to sustainable product and packaging certifications/ schemes.
- Collating sustainable data for company reports and marketing, ensuring they meet expected standards of accuracy.
- Collation of Green House Gas data and supplier engagement to drive reductions.
- Keeping up to date with industry best practice and legislation.
We’d love to meet someone with
- Experience as a Sustainability Specialist reporting into a Sustainability Manager or Head Of, or ready for the step up from Sustainability Junior Specialist.
- SEDEX ethical system management including reporting.
- Essential skill: Competent at reading SMETA/ BSCI factory ethical audits and managing non-conformities with an international supply chain.
- Working knowledge of commonly used sustainable certifications and brands – GOTS/ OCS/ GRS/ RCS/ RDS/ Lenzing/ FSC/ etc.
- Advantageous to have experience of managing at least one team member, to a formalised performance management framework.
- Advantageous to have a basic understanding of Green House Gas reporting/ strategies for Net Zero.
- Advanced Excel skills including formulas, macros and X-look ups.
- Excellent data capture and data management skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing and networking skills.
- Organised and analytical with excellent attention to detail.
