Powered by the pioneering, state-of-the-art PRIMES-IEM model, Ricardo’s Electricity Market Outlook subscription product provides medium to long term electricity projections and transparent and robust insights, in the form of regular and interactive market reports, market outlooks and expert analysis .
Launched this year in the Greek market , we are looking for a European Product Director to lead the Electricity Market Outlook product business as we expand across Europe . This is an exciting opportunity to grow and lead a team of experts in the digital and electricity industries and be part of our story as we scale .
About The Role
As part of our senior leadership team, you’ll play a strategically important role in launching and scaling our high-growth subscription product across Europe .
As The Director For The Product y Ou Will Inspire, Coach, And Develop a Team Of Modellers, Researchers, Product Managers, Market Experts And Sales Executives To Form The Operating Model For Product Growth. You Will Be Accountable For All Aspects Of The Business Including
- S hort, medium, and long-term s trateg ic direction .
- M eeting key KPIs , financial targets and maintaining the P&L.
- De veloping the pipeline for target and new markets, including preparing and presenting content relevant to the wholesale electricity market.
- Creating content based on market knowledge and modelling analysis to publish within the product to customers, and to the wider market as part of marketing campaigns.
- Coordinating market launch activities, budgets, and resources.
- M anaging the people and culture of the team .
This is a high priority role within the Ricardo organisation, and as such would suit someone with expert knowledge of the wholesale electricity and power market across Europe , experience in delivering and managing product businesses and KPIs / P&Ls, plus foundational knowledge of medium to long term projections modelling concepts and software .
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: you’ll balance the delivery of the subscription product commercial plans projects with leading, coaching, and inspiring teams of analysts and energy modellers such that they continuously exemplify Ricardo’s values, improve their performance capability and develop to their full potential.
- Project delivery: you’ll develop a clear and detailed understanding of the target and potential markets and customers and using this to define the medium- and long-term strategic direction of the product business . You will also oversee the implementation and management of multiple regions simultaneously providing both internal and external stakeholders with the orientation they need to achieve the business objectives .
- Market knowledge : you will have an expert understanding of the European electricity and power markets . You will use this knowledge to create content (market reports and marketing material) and presence in the industry, gaining a reputation for thought leadership and using this to further the growth of the subscription product .
- Developing new business: you’ll independently contribute to building and deepening close customer and market relationships across Europe and will use these to further the brand and reputation of the product and organisation. You will the face of the brand, acting as the internal CEO of the product.
Required Attributes
- You will demonstrate drive and passion to achieve the introduction, growth and scaling of a new business, demonstrating commercial acumen to achieve business and product targets.
- You have extensive experience in delivering complex products and / or services within the power sector and wholesale electricity markets.
- You will have strong financial management skills, ensuring the various trade-offs between costs and revenue targets are managed and under control.
- You’ll be collaborative by nature and have an empathetic leadership style that demonstrates skill in inspiring, raising performance and developing your teams.
- You’ll want to use you intellectual and analytical excellence to make real and tangible impacts that influence the complex decisio ns our clients need to make.
- You’ll thrive on using your personal impact to create the highest quality products combining first class analytics and modelling with clear presentation of insights.
- You must be a native English speaker or be of mother-tongue level.
