Joining us as an External Communications Senior Manager, at a minimum, you will need strong communication skills, including excellent written and oral English, with the ability to adapt your style to suit the audience. You’ll have demonstrable PR experience, working in a B2B environment. You will also have a sound understanding of the media landscape and can speak confidently about the core issues affecting business that are high on the media agenda. You’ll have strong experience of working in a busy press office and will confidently advise and counsel stakeholders on the best approaches and strategies to achieve their commercial outcomes. You are results-orientated, motivated, enthusiastic, and work well as part of a team.
You’ll have exceptional attention to detail (to proofread communications before they are published) and demonstrate strong organisational and multi-tasking skills (to manage multiple writing assignments at the same time).

A look into the role
As an External Communications Senior Manager within our Markets & Clients team you will:
- Deliver external communications support for priority sector / service line areas to effectively promote the expertise of the firm and its people
- Enhance the firm’s reputation through proactive PR highlighting stories related to our firm’s culture and operations
- Evolve the firm’s Business Outlook Tracker as a key source of positive external narrative which highlights the firm’s understanding of the issues affecting our clients.
- Manage PR regional agency
- Work with wider communications team and with other client support teams to align activity and deliver seamless support
- Proactively identify and share ideas about how we can continuously improve / evolve our communications to support the needs of stakeholders
- Measure and report the impact of media relations strategies

Joining us as an External Communications Senior Manager, at a minimum, you will have experience of working in a Management role within an external communications role. You’ll need strong communication skills, including excellent written and oral English, with the ability to adapt your style to suit the audience. You’ll have demonstrable PR experience, working in a B2B environment. You will also have a sound understanding of the media landscape and can speak confidently about the core issues affecting business that are high on the media agenda. You’ll have strong experience of working in a busy press office and will confidently advise and counsel stakeholders on the best approaches and strategies to achieve their commercial outcomes.
You’ll have exceptional attention to detail (to proofread communications before they are published) and demonstrate strong organisational and multi-tasking skills (to manage multiple writing assignments at the same time).
It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.
- Extensive PR experience within a B2B professional services environment (agency or client side)
- Strong evidence of experience in media planning, strategy, and execution
- Experience of working autonomously in a large organisation
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to influence and engage colleagues of all levels
- Experience of developing and delivering effective media relations campaigns
- Highly evolved communication and story-telling skills and an ability to translate technical information into editorial
- Experience of building relationships with journalists and editorial teams, understanding their needs balanced with organisation’s goals
