Belonging to the Project Team and reporting to the Offshore Fabrication & Expediting Department Manager, the Fabrication Manager will support Fabrication strategies, plans, tendering, negotiating and managing medium-scale Offshore Fabrication works.
The Fabrication Manager will also plan and implement Fabrication and expediting procedures and best practices which will include Site management of Offshore Fabrication contractors and associated interfaces to ensure quality, best practices, and excellent HSE performances.
Responsibilities
Preparing technical specifications for Fabrication contracts, implementing Offshore Structural/Fabrication/Electrical/Marine standards, procedures, tools, best practices and quality requirements, you will be required to assist delivery of Fabrication contracts/projects with a number of interfaces (Design, Main equipment, Offshore Works and other suppliers) and coordinate to manage within the Offshore Wind projects.
Supporting the Lead Fabrication Manager with the evaluation and selection of the Fabrication/Supplier Contractor within major fabrication projects, you will participate in technical tender meetings, review offers from bidders and prepare the bid assessments whilst providing advice on Structural/Fabrication/Electrical/Marine works and testing solutions/risk levels to the package, identifying cost effective solutions which are fully evaluated and that the risk profile is fully understood by the package.
Ensuring site delivery of construction works is appropriate and consistent with specification, budget and timetable without compromising safety, following best quality practices and observing the maximum respect for Health, Safety and Environment, you will assist with electrical integration in additional project packages, especially Free Issue Equipments (FIE’s) packages and designers, including co-ordination, planning and all material, FIE logistics and certifications of approval for the Onshore Fabrication phase of the project.
Controlling, managing and assisting Engineering and Design Teams with all site queries raised during Fabrication activities, liaising with responsible people in Head Office and minimise response time to Contractors, you will manage medium scale project sites (Manufacturing facilities, Fabrication sites, Marine Warranty Surveyors, Load outs, Transfer of custodies, Site Logistic) under delivery including Contractors, Consultants and Supervisors.
Manage site hand over from Fabrication delivery to Installation, Commissioning or O&M, you will also support with the QHSE team to develop QHSE plan for Fabrication works, ensuring a high standard of health and safety at site.
What you’ll bring
The successful candidate will hold knowledge of Offshore Fabrication processes, standards and best practice with knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation associated with Offshore/Marine delivery key packages. GWO or Site Management Safety Training would be desirable.
